Brad Trost, Member of Parliament for Saskatoon-Humboldt and Kelly Block, Member of Parliament for Saskatoon-Rosetown-Biggar, today hosted a ceremony recognizing Canadian Veterans of the Second World War in honour of the 75th anniversary of Canada’s participation in the conflict. Among their family, friends and community, local Second World War Veterans were presented with a commemorative lapel pin and certificate of recognition in honour of the extraordinary role Canadians played in the Allied victory.
Brad had the opportunity to participate again in this years Ride for Dad. The mission of the TELUS Ride For Dad is to raise funds to save men’s lives by supporting prostate cancer research and raising public awareness of the disease.
Today I had the opportunity to pack a back bag with school supplies during the TELUS Days of Giving : Kits on May 27th on Parliament Hill in Ottawa. Many MPs and Senators gathered in the East Block Courtyard to pack school kits for children in need. https://community.telus.com/
Brad had the opportunity to meet with Canadian Diabetes Association representatives Colin Mallet from Vancouver and constituent Peter Dickinson from Saskatoon at his office on Parliament Hill. Dickinson is a member of the Canadian Diabetes Association’s National Advocacy Council. Mallet is the chair of volunteers for the Vancouver region of the Canadian Diabetes Association.
The Saskatchewan Aviation Historical Society marked the start of the Saskatchewan Aviation Museum and Learning Centre with a ceremony on May 19th at the Hanger 30 site on Koyle Avenue. Congratulations to the Autism Services of Saskatoon for all you do for Saskatchewan families and for reaching out to the community throughout Autism Awareness Month in April. Having had the opportunity to meet with Canadians living with autism and those advocating on their behalf at the Speaker's reception in Ottawa on World Autism Day, it was apparent that the services and support provided for those impacted by ASD assist them to reach their full potential and share their gifts.
On Tuesday, April 28th I had the opportunity to host the Jamaican High Commissioner, H.E. Janice Miller, at a breakfast with Members of Parliament and introduce her to some great Saskatchewan chokecherry products.
Brad had the opportunity to speak to students and answer questions about how the federal government works at Aberdeen school for the Rep Day program.
Brad had the opportunity to visit with residents of the Luther Care Home about everything from politics to new babies.
