Last fall’s terrorist attacks in eastern Canada demonstrated the unfortunate reality that Canada is not 100% protected from terrorists. To aid in the fight against terrorism the government has introduced new legislation. The goals in this bill are clear: to prevent terrorist travel, to stop Canada from being used as a recruiting ground, and to disrupt planned attacks. While not the only tool to protect Canada, it’s another layer in the defenses we need.
